TALISMAN — Album in Development
First real writing session completed April 17, 2026. Song: So Blue Above You — Key of G, 3/4 or 6/8 waltz feel, "Knockin' on Heaven's Door" reference. Verse: G→D→Am→C (×2). Second section: G→Bm→Am→Cm (borrowed chord). Chorus resolution: Em→Bm→Am→D→G (vi-iii-ii-V-I descending). Chorus lyrics complete. PolyKB III was the instrument that unlocked the song. CP-70B is the primary compositional tool. ACE Studio AI vocals planned for melodic sketching.

Begin second song concept. Daemon Hunter (instrumental, Depeche Mode Kaleid vibe) is Track 1.
Cubase Template — Writing Session
Folder architecture complete. CP-70B, Vocals, USB SYNTHS (including Leviasynth Desktop), and CV SYNTHS all configured as External Instruments. Groove Agent SE6 16-output configured. DRUM BUS group configured.
MIDI SYNTHS folder — configure as External Instruments. K5000R cables pending (Coluber order placed). SM10 SYNTHS folder to follow.
Hardware — Studio Build
Leviasynth Desktop acquired April 2026 (demo unit, Perfect Circuit) — cabling in progress, USB to mioXL pending (use H9 or H10). Ergotron LX Premium arrived — walnut board arriving Wednesday April 22. Threaded inserts (E-Z LOK 1/4-20 brass knife, 0.5") and black oxide flat head socket cap screws ordered for walnut mount. Antonus ARP 2600 OS ordered from Barcelona (orange panel, Tolex roadcase, 45–60 day build). FauxVT Shapeways order placed ($486, white GP Plus SLA, ETA May 19). Prodigy filter → Expressionist CV7 ✓. Odyssey filter → Expressionist CV8 ✓. Pro One and System 100 filter cables still to connect.
Connect Pro One and System 100 filter CV cables. Run Leviasynth USB to mioXL. Mount walnut board when it arrives.
OSCar40 Editor — oscar40_scaffold.html
Full CC audit complete, SysEx decode/encode roundtrip, harmonic editor with canvas renderer, waveform library (.o40wave), voice file system (.o40voice / .o40bank), arpeggiator mode section (CC51 bit-decoded), CC52–55 wired with glow indicators. CC Dump bidirectional sync confirmed on hardware. CC20 relabel (Fine Tune → Tuning Semitone) completed.
Voice SysEx encoder. Sequencer editor. Confirm SysEx receive reliability with Ian (Melbourne) before encoder work proceeds.
UAD Console — CP-70B Monitoring
CP-70B now monitoring through both HS8s (Console path: UA 610-B → Brigade Chorus → EMT 140 35% wet, UAD MON) AND KRK Rokit 5 (Apollo 8 Line 6, via Cubase output bus "CP-70B Rokit"). Rokit output assigned in Cubase track inspector routing — not Console. E4XT SUB 1 L/R feeds dedicated Rokit pair for isolated sampler monitoring.
Gain staging session (Console Step 02) still pending. Sampling template and Wavetabling template to build after Writing Session template complete.
MIDI Quest Pro
Purchased and installed April 5, 2026. Serial: XL75752. Network Moog One RTP confirmed working. Always close Cubase before SysEx operations to avoid port conflicts. K5000R SysEx timeout: 750ms.
Configure Moog One first. Then all other supported instruments.
PiDP-11 & FauxVT
PiDP-11: Pi 3B+, SD, PSU, hub all received. At build partner — unresponsive. Fallback: local maker space. FauxVT: separate Pi 3B+, 5" iPistBit screen, Shapeways SLA case ordered (Pantone 7527C, ~$486, ETA May 19). Shelf layout L→R: FauxVT, PiDP-11, Lego Bonsai. Three framed 12" vinyl (Speak & Spell, Upstairs at Eric's, You and Me Both) under museum LED lighting.
Chase build partner or find local maker space. Order adhesive magnets for shelf mounting.
